    Allows oil to travel through the crankshaft to the rifle-drilled passage in the connecting rod and up to the piston pin and bearing, ensuring continuous lubrication and extended component life.

Disc Valves

  1. CNC-Machined Concentric Ring (Disc) Valves

    Precision surface-ground for superior sealing, durability, and extended service life. Also known as concentric ring valves, this design is significantly more reliable than feather or fixed reed valves commonly used by competitors. Although more costly to manufacture, disc valves deliver greater longevity and consistent, trouble-free performance. Service is simple and efficient—remove the retainer, lift out the valve for inspection, and reinstall it within minutes. In contrast, reed valve systems require substantially more service time and are more prone to issues.


  2. Head Unloader Option

    All valves are engineered to support an automatic head unloader system. Head unloaders are only included on fully packaged electric units, while on gas-driven units, the unloader is included on all models. Recommended for electric units operating at 40% or greater duty cycle, head unloaders save energy, improve efficiency, reduce wear, and extend equipment life while protecting the electric motor and magnetic starter by minimizing repeated starting under load. The pilot valve works with a ball valve connected to it; under high duty cycle applications (over 40%), the ball valve can be opened to allow continuous-run operation. On electric units, the unloader works with the pilot valve to unload the compressor at preset pressure, holding the intake valve open to prevent compression while the piston continues cycling. This allows cool air to circulate through the cylinder, dissipating heat and reducing internal temperatures. On gas-powered continuous-run units, the head unloader reduces starting drag, improves ease of starting, lowers fuel consumption, and minimizes engine strain.

Motor

These units have name brand OPD (open drip motors) on them, all of which carry a five-year warranty. All of our motors are low RPM (1750 rpm), versus the higher RPM motors (3450 RPM) used on many competitive units. 1750 RPM motors run much cooler than 3450 RPM motors, because of the higher torque factor. They also yield low harmonic distortion, provide much higher torque in cold weather starting and requiring less electricity under start up.

Our dual control system offers greater operational flexibility. Choose between Auto Start/Stop Mode or Continuous Run Mode based on your compressor’s usage pattern:

● Auto Start/Stop is ideal when usage is 30% or less.
● Continuous Run is better when frequent cycling exceeds 30%.

Continuous Run Mode

The Continuous Run Mode decompresses the intake valves using a pilot valve with a preset PSI, reducing start-up stress on the motor. This prevents wear on the electric motor, centrifugal switch, magnetic starter, and cuts down on energy spikes—helping to lower your electricity bill. Additionally, when freewheeling (not compressing), the pump continues to cool internally, helping dissipate excess heat generated during compression and protecting the system from long-term wear.


Riser

Our pump mounting plate riser is designed to raise the pump allowing 360-degree air flow from the flywheel to cool the pump oil reservoir. Pump mount risers also allow air to flow under the pump for maximum cooling.


Auto Drain

Operation

A dual timer electric auto drain is a device designed to expel moisture and water from the air receiver tank.

Interval Setting Feature

It has an adjustable interval setting feature that allows you to set the device from 1 to 45-minute drain cycles. You can also set the timing of how long you want the drain to stay open.

    I just got this unit installed in my home shop and I am glad I bought the whisper quiet version. My space has only one door and the shop acts like a resonating chamber for noise. The air compressor is very quiet. I have no hesitation making a phone call while in the shop. When I am within a foot of the air compressor, I need to talk directly to another person but I do not have to yell. When I run the unit in ‘continuous mode’ with the motor on and the pump essentially not, the noise pattern doesn’t change much which would indicate that most of the noise from the unit is not from the pump.

    Initial perceptions on quality are very good. I don’t have a lot of hours on the compressor to validate longevity, but many of the things I found missing on other industrial air compressors are there on this one. I was concerned about the ‘motor’ not being named as to which brand when I bought the unit, but I received a Leeson motor to which I am happy.

I had been in the market for a compressor for my shop for a while, my mind was pretty much made up on a competitor’s model until a friend of mine sent me a link to a video of one of the quiet compressors running. I did some looking and found out that they were made a couple of hours away from where I live in Ohio. I decided to make a visit to hear one of these quiet compressors in real life and see for myself. When I got to the showroom I told the lady that greeted me what I was interested in and she said someone would be with me shortly. After a bit of a wait Matt came out to greet us and started describing the features of the Polar Air quiet compressors. I asked him if I could hear one run for myself. He said sure and took me through the factory and described the various processes that we walked past and gave a short history of the company. We got to a final prep area in the factory and they were finishing up a 10 hp model and he turned it on, I was sold, It was amazing how quiet that compressor was. The only issue I had with hooking it up, was the control box is pretty tight. adding the ground wire to the one to the motor makes it almost impossible to get the screws started back into the backplate for reinstalling the cover. other than that it is a great unit.

With the help of a tractor and a very strong friend, got it installed in my shop. I upgraded in order to have a quieter compressor and to keep my neighbors happy. Must say, it exceeded my expectations. Only issue was the switch. Spoke with the tech today (quick response). Recommended a quick rap to the switch with the end of a rubber handled screwdriver to reseat a needle that got out of adjustment during shipping. As promised, took care of the issue.     I have had this compressor for a few months now and am very happy with it. I replaced a Dewalt that failed and I had to cobble together a fix to make a “Frankenpressor.” It was loud, and didn’t have much capacity.

    I don’t have those problems any more.

    I have not been able to use the full capacity of this compressor. I have been able start using my Harbor Freight blasting cabinet. While I am using it, the compressor kicks on, and off, while I am still working.

    I am not a “high volume” user, and this compressor may be more than what I need in my home shop, but I am very happy with its performance over the past few months.

    (They do offer a “free air tool with review” offer, but as I bought the compressor about four months ago, I am not sure if I am out of the time frame for it, so I leave this review whether I get a free tool or not.)

    Love the compressor. Fills the tank quickly and releases the head pressure for the next start.
    This thing is a beast. I struggled to get it moved to its final resting place.

    The documentation was poor. The manual was for a combination of different compressors and the one I bought wasn’t even represented anywhere.
    But the tech support was excellent. I got all of my questions answered thoughtfully and the response time was acceptable.

    4 years ago a friend of mine purchased a Polar Air Compressor. He has always told me it was an excellent compressor. Fast forward to February 2024 and my old compressor finally failed. I was skeptical of how quiet the compressors are on the videos I viewed, but my friend told me I wouldn’t be disappointed. He was right. It is night and day how much quieter this compressor is compared to my old one. I used to not be able to talk to anyone in my barn when the compressor started, and that was on opposite sides of the barn. Now unfortunately I can hear the wife with no problem. Well worth the wait and price. Thanks for an excellent product..

    I needed to upgrade my compressor and wanted a very quiet yet powerful compressor. I purchased the 5HP 80 Gal Pressure Lubricated Silent Air unit. I am very impressed with how quiet it is and how cool it runs. Seems to be very well balanced and has very minimal vibration. Overall, quite pleased with this purchase!
