    Maintains strength at the rod’s base, preventing catastrophic failure common in aluminum rods. At the crankshaft end—the point where aluminum rods commonly fail—cast iron provides the most reliable long-term performance.

    Allows oil to travel through the crankshaft to the rifle-drilled passage in the connecting rod and up to the piston pin and bearing, ensuring continuous lubrication and extended component life.

Disc Valves

  1. CNC-Machined Concentric Ring (Disc) Valves

    Precision surface-ground for superior sealing, durability, and extended service life. Also known as concentric ring valves, this design is significantly more reliable than feather or fixed reed valves commonly used by competitors. Although more costly to manufacture, disc valves deliver greater longevity and consistent, trouble-free performance. Service is simple and efficient—remove the retainer, lift out the valve for inspection, and reinstall it within minutes. In contrast, reed valve systems require substantially more service time and are more prone to issues.


  2. Head Unloader Option

    All valves are engineered to support an automatic head unloader system. Head unloaders are only included on fully packaged electric units, while on gas-driven units, the unloader is included on all models. Recommended for electric units operating at 40% or greater duty cycle, head unloaders save energy, improve efficiency, reduce wear, and extend equipment life while protecting the electric motor and magnetic starter by minimizing repeated starting under load. The pilot valve works with a ball valve connected to it; under high duty cycle applications (over 40%), the ball valve can be opened to allow continuous-run operation. On electric units, the unloader works with the pilot valve to unload the compressor at preset pressure, holding the intake valve open to prevent compression while the piston continues cycling. This allows cool air to circulate through the cylinder, dissipating heat and reducing internal temperatures. On gas-powered continuous-run units, the head unloader reduces starting drag, improves ease of starting, lowers fuel consumption, and minimizes engine strain.

Motor

These units have name brand OPD (open drip motors) on them, all of which carry a five-year warranty. All of our motors are low RPM (1750 rpm), versus the higher RPM motors (3450 RPM) used on many competitive units. 1750 RPM motors run much cooler than 3450 RPM motors, because of the higher torque factor. They also yield low harmonic distortion, provide much higher torque in cold weather starting and requiring less electricity under start up.

Our dual control system offers greater operational flexibility. Choose between Auto Start/Stop Mode or Continuous Run Mode based on your compressor’s usage pattern:

● Auto Start/Stop is ideal when usage is 30% or less.
● Continuous Run is better when frequent cycling exceeds 30%.

Continuous Run Mode

The Continuous Run Mode decompresses the intake valves using a pilot valve with a preset PSI, reducing start-up stress on the motor. This prevents wear on the electric motor, centrifugal switch, magnetic starter, and cuts down on energy spikes—helping to lower your electricity bill. Additionally, when freewheeling (not compressing), the pump continues to cool internally, helping dissipate excess heat generated during compression and protecting the system from long-term wear.


Riser

Our pump mounting plate riser is designed to raise the pump allowing 360-degree air flow from the flywheel to cool the pump oil reservoir. Pump mount risers also allow air to flow under the pump for maximum cooling.

Operation

A dual timer electric auto drain is a device designed to expel moisture and water from the air receiver tank.

    Really happy with my purchase. I don’t think a time will ever come when this compressor won’t be enough. It’s an extremely capable machine that produces an insane amount of air very quickly. I will say that it is extremely quiet compared to standard compressors and you can talk next to it without really yelling, but any level of “I can have a phone call next to it” seems like a stretch. It’s not silent by any means but the biggest impact is the lower RPM. This cuts down on high frequencies which is really where the benefit is.

    I had trouble with the final destination shippers and my box was a bit beat up when it arrived. As a result (I believe), the pressure switch wasn’t functioning properly. It did take a moment to get someone to help diagnose it (they seemed pretty busy) but once that was done, they shipped a new switch out immediately and got me up and running. I’d say that I would purchase again but my grandkids will be fighting over it in 50 years so no day will come when I need to.

    In 2018 I searched for a good compressor for myself and found and purchased a 5HP Polar Air Compressor. I am very particular about buying quality personally. I am part of the team at Larry Romance and Son and when they need something, I am in a position where they knowing how particular I am about quality, will ask for my input. Thus, this opportunity of needing a good-sized compressor came up for our tire division. It is awesome!!! It is so quiet. We are very happy with it. Quality shows in every aspect of it !!! About a year ago we had an immediate need for our main shop and they bought locally. I knew we wouldn’t be able to buy one from you considering the lead time. I did my homework on the air compressor and was very impressed with how quiet and powerful it is. I purchased the air compressor for my small engine repair business and boy am I glad I did.     I recently purchased the 10 hp single phase Industrial Plus unit from the good folks in Clayton, Ohio and first and foremost, I must complement their sales and support staff. Everyone I spoke with was/is knowledgeable, competent, polite, and well-prepared to meet the needs of their clientele. The support behind the unit speaks to the quality and dependability of the unit before it is ever un-crated. Further, I was able to install a (likely) larger unit than may have been required at this time, but Eaton’s pricing structure and the quality of the build make it easier to afford the additional capacity now at a lower price point. Every part of the unit features first quality parts and first quality workmanship. The fit and finish indicate the unit is as well-built as it is well-designed. The unit is quiet, starts easy, runs at low speed, and never starves the distribution system for air. I have been involved with the design, installation, and use of these systems for well over forty years, and can recommend this equipment and this supplier with the highest degree of confidence.

    after doing some research I contacted Eaton compressor for more information about their 10 hp quiet air compressor. I was impressed with the knowledgable courteous staff and selected the Polar air 10hp industrial plus unit for my home shop. the unit came packaged well and is a well built unit. After installation I fired it up and was impressed with how quiet and smooth it runs from my old 7.5 hp devilbuss compressor. I highly recommend this unit and look forward to years of quiet use.

    This compressor os a hige upgrade from my previous husky. It can easily keep up woti a sand blaster and multiple air tooks tust run continuously. For the price though, i do wish that the electric box was better secured as it vibrates quite a lot and reauired me to add a third bolt to mount it more secirely. Additionally it would be nice if it came with the hour meeter already installed instead of requiring a seperate purchase and customer install, Especially since oil change intervals are based on hours.

    The unit also came low on oil Requiring me to purchase my own. ThenThen after about two hours of runtime, the oil pressure dropped below the minimum so I had to adjust this up to keep it at the rated 20 psi. ThThe belts also started flaking small bits of rubber off of them, though they do look to be at the correct tightness and in alignment. I reached out to customer service and was able to get a new pump under warranty which I’m hoping will fix these issues. For all of the problems I’ve had, they have stood behind their product with good customer service, which is appreciated.

    Nice COMPRESSOR but comes with some drawbacks. OVERALL, this COMPRESSOR is a beast and boasts a duty cycle I’ll likely not ever exceed but there were some DISAPPOINTMENTS upon RECEIPT. First, the compressor arrived about 1/2 quart low on oil. Since this requires oil not readily AVAILABLE off the shelf, i had to purchase this out of pocket before I even ran the unit. Secondly, MAINTENANCE is calculated by hours, but an hour meeter is an extra charge, and requires the customer to install. For the 5k price tag, it would be nice to have this as standard EQUIPMENT. Third, the oil pressre dropped so low after the first two hours of use that i had to manually adjust it twice, resulting in a 60psi cold start, and a 15 PSI pressure when at operating temp. Upon bringing this to customer service, a new pump was sent and will be installed under warranty so that is technically resolved. Lastyl, the pressure switch was set too low so that continuous run feature didn’t RELIABLY operate. This took a while to get to the bottom of but I Finally found the cutin/cutout pressure had been set at 100PSI/140PSI.
    Overall, all of these issues could have been take care of it the unit was test run before shipment and its DISAPPOINTING that none of these were addressed before I received the unit. Its OBVIOUS to me that some QA improvements are needed before certifying for shipment.
